Katy has had quite a parade of incredible outfits during her tours and performances. At this point we’re used to Katy’s colorful dresses, we know she likes them as bright as possible, but some of these outfits are so outstanding they might challenge Lady Gaga’s shocking dresses. Let’s take a stroll down the memory lane and revisit the most memorable outfits that Katy wore, shall we?
1.Carousel Dress
Remember the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards? Probably not. But you definitely remember this dress. Not a lot of people will decide to wear a carousel as a dress, but Katy did. The bottom half of the dress didn’t just have a drawing of a carousel, it literally was a carousel. The attention to detail on that dress was incredible, it had little animals and poles and flags. The dress was made by Manish Arora, in case you want to check out more of her work.
Remember the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards? Probably not. But you definitely remember this dress. Not a lot of people will decide to wear a carousel as a dress, but Katy did. 2.Cupcake Bra
To be fair, this wasn’t just a regular Katy Perry outfit. It’s not like she wears this stuff outside. It was for her video California Gurls. That whole video is quite surreal. Everything seems to be made of sugar or candy, even Katy Perry. Especially her bra, or is it a bikini top? I don’t know how practical that outfit was, but if you wanted to draw even more attention to your boobies, wearing a huge cupcake bra seems to work. Katy seems to be a huge fan of cupcakes, because she also wore a cupcake dress at one of her shows.

This was another outfit Perry wore at the 2008 MTV Europe Music awards. She did a lot of costume changing that night. This one, however, looks like she’s mid-costume change. Katy wore half a tuxedo, half a prom dress and it looked hella cool. I’d call this costume the most daring one. Not because it shows off a lot of skin, but because it’s a creative way to show off both your masculine and feminine side. It’s a great way to show that you don’t have to pick, you can be both masculine and feminine at the same time. Few of us are just one thing and we should celebrate the fact that we can be multiple things at the same time.

Katy wore this dress during her Prismatic Tour in Puerto Rico. In my opinion this is how you’re supposed to show off your love of cats – by wearing a dress that has a huge cat face on it. Next time someone tells you off for wearing smth with cats on it, or tells you that you’re going to become a crazy cat lady, show them this picture. Katy seems to be doing fine, so I don’t see why we can’t wear more cat inspired stuff on the regular.

Katy doesn’t shy away from politics. She wore quite a few dresses that showed off who she supports during the election campaigns. Remember the ballot dress? That was cool wasn’t it? It urged people to vote, but also gave you a clear understanding of who Katy’s supporting. If that wasn’t enough, after Obama won she wore this dress with his face on it. Looks like Katy is a huge fan of Obama, but who isn’t right? That guy is just the coolest president ever.

There’s a lot of ways to show off your love for movies. Katy prefers to show off her passion for movies with the clothes she wears. To the premiere of her 3D concert movie “Part Of Me” Katy wore an interesting ensemble. A glittery film reel top and popcorn skirt. Would you have thought to make your breasts into film reels for a movie premiere? Probably not, but then again, you’re not Katy Perry.

Some people disagreed at the time, deeming the dress ‘too short’ and ‘inappropriate’ for a children’s movie premiere. However, as the time went by, I think we can let that go, and just agree that clearly she was excited to have voiced the character and this was her way of showing that.

Did you ever just look at a snowman and thought ‘yes, a snowman is an awesome idea for a dress, if only it could be more sexy’. I’d say it’s impossible to make a snowman sexy, but Katy Perry proved us wrong. She wore this dress to the KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball in 2010, which took place in California. That’s ironic, isn’t it? A snowman in California.

You know exactly who I’m talking about. We all have that one friend. Well, remember that one year when that friend was Katy Perry?
